Hello, Oppo, I thought I'd join into the intro game. I'm a 25 year old Canucklehead with a bachelors in mechanical engineering, and a specific education in mechatronics. Currently I work at a mobile software company and I hope in the next year or two that I can move into the industry I'm really interested in: robotics.
Car wise I learned on a 2004 Mazda Tribute that I loved to drive through snow and water. My family moved to a 2008 Tribute and after university I bought my first car, a 2010 Golf. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I hope to replace it with another Golf this week.
Finally my other main interest is boating. I love being out on the water in the evening when the light starts to change!

I'm also a mech e with robotics. Are you opposed to drones? That's the hot industry right now

No, I've looked into drones, especially the 3DR Quad kit. I was considering buying one of those then modifying it with improved parts (try to lighten it by making bespoke components) but then my colleague began buying tools for a full machine shop in our office so I'm going to try to go whole-hog and build a full rover platform.

Pretty cool, but sounds complicated. The parrot quads are pretty easy to hack if you need a starting place.
I would learn how to fly rc first though

The cool thing about the 3DR Quad is the autopilot system they've developed, but still, you're right about the rc education. I might look into it!
